Yeah!!! ::Midnite Rave:: (john han, andy kung, and my glowstring (raving) act) made the Variety show!!! but sadly my piano didn't. ...i think it might hav been cuz they didn't want the same person to be on stage twice cuz there were like 50 ppl who tried out and it wouldn't be fair to the other ppl if i got to do two. I don't think i played perfectly either so yeah... . anyways. we had somewhat of a routine that we made up during the two hours before our tryout, and we didn't really follow it anyway. but it was awesome anywayz and we made it. We used the Chicago Compilation remix of Into Your Eyes... so yeah. now we need to get it to performance quality. so i gtg write this english paper so peace out. fer now.

well. the first week and a half of school is over. i take all honors classes except for orchestra and spanish. and um .....im really very extremely incredibly tired. yeah. i fell asleep at like 12 doing homework everyday. but the work i did, was better than some other ppl's but anyways. i should just stop procrastinating. i hate procrastinating. i wanna kill it. i just wish i would stop it. ...procrastination i think, only if you can stand the tiredness, which i almost kant anymore, is an abhorrent monstrosity. and it's my ambition to prevent myself from procrastinating ever again. but ....it doesn't seem like it's happening as quickly as i thought. since i don't hav much to post right now, the upcoming/this post, i'll just highlight on things i remember from the past that i didn't post anything about.

well...i remember XD dropping MY NEW LAPTOP....actually my backpack dropped it. i took such good care of it and then....when i was leaving the library at the end of my study hall activity, while i was walking, and when the zipper on my backpack was all zipped up nicely (it's the kind with two zippers and both were on i the left side), it rips open from the top...i feel this and try to push theback of my backpack in towward my back before it could fall out...but i guess i was too late... and my laptop tumbles out. shity fucking backpak wtf is your problem! ...well i knowwhat had happened even though it was on my back since wheni checked it. both zippers were still on that same side and the zipper had completly been ripped apart. :( so... later i called my dad up to bring me a laptop carrying case and then i used that sturdy thing for the rest of my camp. XD...well my computer's screen wouldn't turn on for a while, but i figured out why and fixed it, it was a mechanism problem, and the sensory thing got sstuck. and also there are scuff marks that won't come off the corner of my computer and also my dvd RW and cdrw drive's tray thing has one of it's sides lower than the other. it stillworks. what a relief.

o and i got a fever at camp and like ditched a evening study seession without telling the authorities. badass azn. lol XD

» The Legend of 1900
Has anyone seen the movie, The Legend of 1900. It's a great moving but somwhat depressing movie. If u have'nt seen it i recommend it. And it's about music (a pianist to be specific). This just my opinion so please don't come flaming me if you didn't like it. Here is a quick overview.

The Legend of 1900 is an interesting new fable from legendary Italian filmmaker Guiseppe Tornatore, maker of Cinema Paradiso and The Star Maker. Based on a monologue by Alessandro Baricco, The Legend of 1900 tells the story of a unique man who never set foot upon dry land. On January 1, 1900, a small baby boy was found abandoned on the Virginian, a transatlantic ship. The crewman who found him names the boy Danny Boodman T.D. Lemon 1900; 1900 for short. 1900 is a true orphan. He knows nothing about his parents or his past. The Virginian is the only thing he knows.

The story unfolds as a series of flashbacks told by a man named Max (Pruitt Taylor Vance, Nobody's Fool, Mumford). In a series of events that seem awkward to the viewer, Max tells various people he meets about his experiences aboard the Virginian with 1900 (Tim Roth, No Way Home, Gridlock'd). The transitions are clunky, causing the story to frequently halt for further exposition before continuing. At a young age, 1900 became a piano prodigy. He entranced people with his ability to play the piano, and dumbfounded people with his refusal to leave the ship. 1900 helped Max ease his transition onto the ocean, and the two became friends, playing together in the band. Max details 1900's experiences with love (in a very Titanic-like meeting), and his encounter with Jelly Roll Morton (Clarence Williams III, The General's Daughter, Reindeer Games). Morton is irrationally jealous of 1900 and challenges him to a piano duel to determine the better player. Williams glowers through his role, which is interesting but one-dimensional.

Roth plays 1900 as an enigma. He shows emotion only when he is playing the piano. Vance's character is much more annoying. His only purpose is the narrator. Tornatore gives no reason as to why the two become friends, or remain friends for such a long time. 1900 is well liked by the crew, so why is Max the person 1900 confides in the most?

The music of The Legend of 1900 was composed by another legend, Ennio Morricone. Morricone composed more than 400 scores over his career, garnering numerous nominations in the process. Morricone's music permeates the movie, rising and falling with the moods of the characters. The production on The Legend of 1900 is gorgeous. The special effects are great, but here it is a good thing. Long shots of the Virginian do not look quite real, instead it looks almost magical. This is Tornatore's first English film, and although it isn't outstanding, it is a nice effort.

I get to go to a piano competition on June 26. o and that northwestern thing is on the 27. Well, bak to this. I am gonna play the rondo from Beethoven's sonata Pathetique and this waltz by Chopin. The cool thing is this competition is for like the better ppl, (trying not to brag) they hav like two divisions this year, the one im in they created this year. they created it for the "Better" ppl who always get first place every year. flashback to last year::the competition involves being in a room with other kids who have played piano for the same amount of years. everyone plays and whoever gets the highest score get first place, then second , then third, then just for participation. There are usually around 10 ppl per room:: back to present but in this new competition they created, all pianists i think from 12 to 18 i think compete. and the first place winner goes on and competes with the first place winners of other instruments, such as violin. (I think they still just see who gets the highest rating, no matter what instrument) The first, second, and third place winners get scholarships. AND THATS WHAT IM SHOOTING FOR SOOO THAT'S WHY I HAVEN'T BEEN POSTING IN A WHILE SINCE I'VE BEEN BUSY AS HELL! thx for reading.

The good news: O yeah. i got accepted into the three week summer program for algebra II honors at Northwestern University. They provide high speed internet connection. so i am gonna bring my laptop/ethernet cable and download stuff.

The bad news: during the three weeks i will be housed in an unairconditioned dorm. also i will be eating cafeteria food for the three weeks (i don't think it's that bad). There mite be sum freaky geeks (no offense jp but u never no). Lastly, i hav to learn a whole year of Algebra II honors in three weeks as stated before. It's going to be a whole chapter and a test on it every damn day. :( but it's good for me if i learn it and pass everything. :)
